Nostalgia

Laws of Life, part 1 of a series I may never end up finishing.

-Introduction-
I learned from chemistry class last year that "laws describe and theories explain". One can describe how gravity works, but explaining it is slightly more difficult (it took Einstein to do it!). Similarly, life has it's own properties that can be easily described, but awfully hard to explain. Some moments in life are unexplainable. A few things are certain: they are rooted in emotion and mold and refine us through time. I'm going to try to outline seven laws of life that have been prominent to me. I hope you enjoy.

-Nostalgia-
There seems to be two kinds of nostalgia: childhood nostalgia and historical nostalgia. This is a focus on childhood nostalgia. To me, it's old TV shows, yo-yo tricks, origami, VHS tapes, treasure hunts, backpacks with wheels (don't ask), Peter Rabbit, those magical childhood Christmases, and cosy evenings at my grandparents' house. It's a warm evening by the campfire at summer camp. It's making crayons by melting old stubs. It's annoying my brother with Clue. It's all the carefully enclosed comfort childhood brought. Looking back on the past reminds me both of ignorance and fun. I'm thankful I had both during that delicate time.
